There are seven exquisite wall paintings on the walls of the main hall at Bao-an temple by the master painter, Pan, Li-shui(潘麗水). Those precious wall paintings are based on Chinese stories which have been told from generation to generation to teach some important values.
Among them is Mulan's story, a story about a brave young girl who disguises herself as a man to serve military duty for her aged father. Since the popular Disney animation, Mulan, in 1998, many foreigners have been familiar with her story.
In the picture, Patrick, one of our tour guides, is showing our guests this elaborate painting with the feminine daughter, Mulan, in an armor next to a horse, her toddler brother chasing after her, and her worried and aged parents seeing her off in a distance.
